Barbara R. DeMares, MSN, PMHNP-BC, APNP, is a board-certified advanced practice nurse practitioner based at Rogers Behavioral Health in Brown Deer. She has extensive experience across multiple settings providing compassionate care for patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
After completing an Associate Degree in Nursing and a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College, DeMares earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cardinal Stritch University. Subsequently, she completed a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a specialization as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Alverno College in Milwaukee. Prior to joining Rogers, she provided mental health services, including diagnostic interviews and medication management, in a variety of settings in Wisconsin.
DeMares was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society of nurses, in 2018 and has been recognized for her work through inclusion in America’s Top Nurses and by Today’s Nurse to represent Waukesha in 2022
