Emotional Dysregulation Treatment

During the teenage years, emotions are often intense. For female teens struggling to regulate these emotions, experiencing severe depression, are at risk of self-harm, or who have attempted suicide, the Nashotah Center at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, can help. We provide dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) treatment in a beautiful and validating residential setting for emotional dysregulation that occurs along with a variety of mental health conditions

Transforming Lives with Committed and Personalized Care

If your teen is struggling, we know how worried you are. We can support them with compassionate care and structure. For female teens up to age 18, our emotional dysregulation treatment program offers comprehensive care, addressing:

  • Self-harm, non-suicidal, self-injurious behavior
  • Depression and other mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Difficulties in emotional regulation
  • Perfectionism
  • Disordered eating
  • Struggles with managing interpersonal relationships
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

With our focus on DBT, teens will learn to accept doing the best they can, while acknowledging the need to try hard and make healthy changes.

When you work with Rogers, the involvement of family and support networks is a key part of adolescent treatment. It allows for more effective care and eases the transition back to home, work, or school.  Involvement includes joint therapy sessions and Rogers’ Friends and Family University, a program that educates parents and loved ones about treatment, wellness, and how to best support their teen’s mental health needs.

Residential Emotional Dysregulation Treatment Offers Support to Female Teens

We understand that if you are considering this type of treatment for your teen, you want compassionate, comprehensive, and attentive care that connects with them. The Nashotah Center hosts a small, 16-person residential program offering individualized treatment and planning.

With a focus on DBT, skills learned lead to improved personal safety, relationships, self-esteem, quality of life, and resilience—all within our validating environment, where adolescents are safe to explore change, express their true emotions, and learn to manage their unique thoughts and feelings.

While here, teens live on-site on the more than 50 wooded, lakeside acres in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Within a comfortable, safe, and home-like setting, teens typically stay somewhere between 60 to 90 days. We focus on reducing safety risks from emotional dysregulation and helping teens gain skills to manage personal conflict and mental health issues like personality disorders while minimizing the risk of future traumas, such as abusive relationships.
